Scheduled test set runs, bulk test step actions, and Visual Compare from an earlier step
TL;DR
Test sets can now run on a recurring schedule, the Test Case Editor gets bulk select, copy, and delete for steps, and Visual Compare can reference an image from an earlier step. We also made it possible to fix and retry newly added web apps URLs reachability issue, and shipped a batch of mobile, accessibility, and reliability improvements.
FEATURE
- Scheduled test set runs: Set a test set to run automatically on a recurring schedule, right from its own settings, instead of only running it on demand or from CI.
- Bulk select, copy, and delete test steps: Check off multiple steps in the Test Case Editor to delete them together, with a confirmation showing how many, or copy them as a group to paste elsewhere.
- Visual Compare against an earlier step: Point Visual Compare's image field at a file your test captured earlier in the run, instead of only a pre-uploaded asset.
- Fix an app connection error without leaving Thunders: When your app's URL returns an HTTP error, Thunders already tells you what the status code means and flags a 401 as an authentication issue. Now you can add the missing credentials or headers and retry the check right there, so your environment is ready for Thunders to start testing it.
- Thunders AI respects your guidance for naming the test cases it creates: When Thunders AI authors a test case for you, it now follows the format you specify.
- Create an app straight from a mobile run: If a mobile run does not have an app configured yet, create one directly instead of getting stuck.
IMPROVEMENT
- Alerts surface automatically: A step that passes while still carrying an alert, like a console exception or a newly opened tab, now auto-expands so you see it immediately instead of it hiding behind a green checkmark.
- Clearer mobile test setup: A waiting for device message appears during mobile test setup using the same smart wait-and-backoff as web, and an idle warm device is reclaimed automatically when a run cannot get one.
- Finer-grained accessibility checks: The RGAA color-contrast rule is now split across four tests by weight and size for more precise reporting.
- More integrations tagged as knowledge sources: Jira Data Center, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, and Shortcut are now correctly tagged as knowledge sources for Thunders AI instead of showing up as bug-reporting destinations only.
- Clearer failure messaging: The cause of an interrupted run is now surfaced directly in the failure message, and a self-closing print window, seen in some apps, no longer ends the run, it shows as a warning instead.
- Test case activity feed: Prerequisite-flag changes on a test case now show up in its activity feed.
- Test run PDF export: Resolved variable values now show up in the exported PDF.
- Faster, steadier Test Runs page: The run event feed recovers automatically, and the page no longer re-reads data it already has.
FIX
- Steadier app boot: A network blip during startup now retries instead of hard-failing the app load.
- Test Case Editor stays on your restored version: Switching to an earlier test case version no longer bounces you back to the latest one.
- UI polish: Only the Edit action shows on step hover in the Test Case Editor now, the app-URL warning sits next to the app name and persists before recording starts, and the Configure link's hitbox in the collapsed sidebar is fixed.
- Custom MCP servers: Added custom MCP servers now show their own icon in the Connectors list and in Thunders AI, instead of a generic icon.
- Steadier test runs: Hot reload now resumes correctly after a failed Visual Compare step, a browser crash reports the run as failed instead of interrupted, a dead session names the step it was running, and a virtualized grid row outside the visible area is reachable again. Together these cut down on flaky failures and confusing statuses.
